Comfort that settles in with your family.
The Carson 3 Seater Leather Sofa is upholstered in 100% leather with a vintage finish, giving the surface a lived-in appearance from the outset. Foam and poly fibre cushioning sits over steel S-spring and webbing support, producing a medium firmness that suits sitting for extended periods. A corner blocked frame built from plywood and timber provides the structure, with oak legs beneath. Both the back and seat cushions are fixed, so the sofa keeps a consistent shape and needs no straightening after use. That fixed construction also makes the seat easier to wipe over. Assembly is limited to screwing on the legs before use.

Semi-Aniline leather is a type of leather dyed exclusively with soluble dyes. The dye colours the leather without producing the uniform surface of a topcoat paint or insoluble pigmented sealant. The resulting product retains the hide's natural surface.Leather is tanned with Oil Tannins
Product Care
- Natural leather will wrinkle, however with correct care and maintenance it will not split, or crack.
- For everyday cleaning, a quick wipe over with a clean, slightly damp cloth is all that is required. At the very minimum this should be done once a month to maintain the leather's softness.
- Dust your sofa weekly using a clean dry and non abrasive white cloth.
- Remove spills rapidly from the surface by dabbing with absorbent cloth or paper towel. Don't allow the leather to become wet.
- Allow leather to dry naturally.
- Avoid positioning your furniture in direct sunlight where it will fade. It is also recommend to position your leather furniture at least 1m away from a direct heat source, which can cause the leather to dry out. You may be required to care for your sofa more regularly, if a heat source is located in the same room
- Do not use detergents or cleaning chemicals, as this could further mark/damage the leather. Do not clean the leather with chlorine based or abrasive cleaners
- A vacuum with an upholstery brush attachment can be used to remove dust and other environmental debris from the upholstery, and under the seat cushions. Dust/grime can mark the leather and be harder to clean if left to accumulate.
- If the leather is used constantly by individuals on certain types of medications (particularly chemotherapy, heart, blood pressure and diabetes medication), additional measures should be taken to protect leather surfaces from direct skin contact. This is because the compounds in these medications, which get excreted through pores in the skin, may react with and damage the leather finish.
- The surface coating of your leather can also be damaged by excessive and prolonged exposure to high levels of sweat. In these instances, additional care and maintenance is required by ensuring that it is cleaned more frequently with a leather cleaner and leather protector.
- If you have pets, please be careful with them around your new leather sofa. Pets can damage your sofa through chew marks, claws (scratches) and oil residue from their fur. Please Note: if leather comes in contact with flea treatment, this may cause damage or discolouration.
- Similarly, leather can scratch & scuff if something sharp/rough is dragged along, this includes: zips, buckles, fingernails, shoes, jewellery etc. The use of a good quality leather care products (cleaner, conditioner and/or protector) can assist with rectifying minor scratches and scuffs.
- The use of Guardsman Leather care products is recommended, following the manufacturer’s instructions. Additionally, we recommend Guardsman Leather warranties which cover most accidental damage.
Sofa Maintenence:
- Try to utilise all seating and rotate the cushions where possible to ensure even wearing at least one a week.
- If there are cushions that are feather-filled, they will need to be 'beaten up' regularly to retain their shape.
- If the cushions are left for long periods of time without any care they will flatten.
Wearing in a sofa:
If your new sofa looks and feels a little different to the one you saw in store (it may feel a bit firmer and the fabric a bit tighter), that's because your sofa is brand new and hasn't had the chance to be worn in by many visitors, like the display model has had the opportunity to receive in store.
Give your sofa time to gradually 'wear in' and adapt to your way of life and it will then develop a more casual appearance, each with its own unique character.
Assembly
Sinking into your new sofa is the easy part, but first there's a bit of putting-together to do. Assembly ranges from something as easy as screwing on the legs, through to clasping modular sections together or some flat-pack assembly, which takes a little longer. If you get stuck or just need a hand, click the start chat link and the team will be happy to help.
Please note: if any assembly times are listed, they're estimates and may vary from person to person, so grab a hand and you'll be settled in before you know it.
