Care Instructions:

  • It is recommended that you tighten the screws on tables and benches periodically.
  • To give extra protection against hot cups, plates etc and accidental spillages, it is always best to protect the beauty of your table with place mats.
  • All outdoor furniture products will keep their new appearance longer if they are protected from the elements when not in use.  Avoid leaving in direct weather for extended periods of time.

Timber General

  • For everyday cleaning, wipe over with a damp cloth.
  • Use a stiff brush to remove any dirt or debris
  • Do not use a silicone-based products on timber furniture, as it will cause a build-up of silicone on the product, which can discolour and dry out the timber
  • We also recommend the use of Guardsman Outdoor Wood Protector which repels stains and protects against mildew.
Acacia with Polyurethane finish
  • Exterior PU finishes require moderate levels of maintenance (as a guide, every 12-18 months, but can vary depending on your climate, outdoor conditions and if it is left continuously in direct weather).
  • These are available from all major hardware stores and always follow the application process on the product.
  • Exterior PU finishes are applied with a natural bristle brush in multiple coats.
  • Sand the hardened varnish lightly between each coat.
  • As soon as you see a chalky film start to develop on your product, it’s time to freshen the finish.
  • Simply sand the topcoat smooth, and apply a new coat of the exterior polyurethane.
  • Don’t put this important maintenance step off too long or cracks will develop in the finish allowing moisture to penetrate and degrade the wood.
  • To clean any powder coated metal pieces, simply wipe down items with a damp cloth
  • Dust can be wiped off with a clean cloth.
